Description
These interactive STEAM projects allow students to research the lifecycle of a variety of plants and animals, and then display their work in an attractive & surprising way! These fans are an ideal way for the teacher to integrate science, the reading of nonfiction texts, research, and informational writing! The fans work well as center work, for fast finishers, as independent projects, and as a supplement to your science unit on life cycles. Let students choose the animal they want to research, or start together in groups or as a whole class.
Included are life cycles of:
- an apple
- an ant
- a bat
- a bee
- a butterfly
- a chicken
- a frog
- a ladybug
- a plant
- a pumpkin
- a salmon
- a turkey
After note-taking, students edit their work and publish their information. They color the images at the top of the fan and hole-punch the fans at the bottom. A metal brad through the circles completes the project.
When complete, students can fan the project into a circular shape to represent the never-ending life cycle. Students now have an interactive project to take-home OR a beautiful bulletin board display.
Complete teacher directions and a page of recommended books to use with this project are included.
